Formner RGMA stands witness to ratings manipulation

Isang bagong witness ang napasakamay ng ABS-CBN. This time it's a former employee of Bacolod's local radio station, Super Radyo (RGMA Bacolod).


Donard Nojas states that ratings manipulation is part of their work to boost the ratings and to attract advertisers.

ABS-CBN defends its former statement that it is indeed GMA who have contacted metered households according to initial investigations by AGB-Nielsen and that it is AGB who said that "the network" was GMA.

ABS-CBN filed a motion for reconsideration

ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation filed a motion for reconsideration at the Quezon City Regional Trial Court regarding their case against media research company AGB-Nielsen.

Witness shows face on the AGB ratings issue

ABS-CBN witness on the AGB-Nielsen Bacolod ratings scam shows up face-to-face and is now bolder on his statements.

In this video, Mark Dumago tells in detail how he was contacted by a certain GMA Iloilo official and how they did the location of metered households. He remains firm with his stand and further points GMA to be behind the ratings manipulation through bribery of P500 and groceries.

KBP "No Cheating" on Willyonaryo

Months after the incident, the Kapisanan ng mga Broadcaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) said in a statement that what happened in the Willyonaryo segment was a flaw and there was no cheating or no attempt to cheat.



It was on August 20, 2007 episode of Wowowee when a "glitch" occurred during the final jackpot round of Willyonaryo, when game show host Willie Revillame said that the numeral 2 for the P2,000,000 cash prize was in violet wheel. However, when he pulled the film at the back, the numeral "0" appeared instead. He appeared to fiddle with the back of the wheel and then he pulled out two films: one dark film and another film with the number "2" printed on it. As he held those two films in his hand, the number "0" was still visible in the window of the violet wheel.

The Feast of Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno de Quiapo

Attracting millions of devotees and Catholic faithfuls, the procession of the Black Nazarene of Quiapo, Philippines is considered the largest religious procession in the country. During its feast day (January 9), the image of the Black Nazarene is placed in a carriage with a rope tied to it. Devotees that pull the rope are hoping that they may receive a miracle, although most of them do it in gratitude and thanksgiving of their answered prayers. Others throw white handkerchiefs to the image guards, the guards in turn rub the handkerchiefs in the image and throw it back to the owner.


The procession, due to the large bare-footed crowd that it attracts, hardly moves and cases of injuries are always reported. But the organizers are always ready for those incidents as the procession has been a yearly event.

The Black Nazarene is a life-sized, dark-skinned statue of Jesus Christ that a priest bought in Mexico, carved by an Aztec carpenter. The image shows a “black” Jesus Christ carrying a cross. The statue has been housed at the Saint John de Baptist Church in Quiapo, Manila also known as the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene since 1787. The statue was brought to Manila by a Spanish priest in 1607 aboard a ship. It was said that the ship caught fire, burning the image and thus came to be known as the Black Nazarene. The image also survived the great fires that destroyed Quiapo Church in 1791 and 1929, the great earthquakes of 1645 and 1863, and the destructive bombing of Manila in 1945 during World War II.

Yet another witness shows up for ABS-CBN

This time it's a woman that shows up and testifies that there is indeed bribery happening in exchange of watching a certain TV network.

According to her, she is a viewer of ABS-CBN until some men approached her and offered groceries and cash just to watch "their network". Due to their financial financial situation, she accepted the offer, but her husband is not in favor of it.

Richard Carpenter, brother and bandmate of the immortal hitmaker Karen Carpenter is to arrive here in the Philippines to support Claire dela Fuente's new album.

Claire in the interview is full of emotions because she is a fan of the Carpenters, and upon hearing that Richard is listening to her songs, she is so overwhelmed. Claire dela Fuente is considered "The Karen Carpenter of the Philippines" due to the similarity of her voice to that of Karen.

The missing part is about AGB issuing a motion for protective order on ABS-CBN encouraging other bribed panel home members, the report being the same as that of ABS-CBN. What is interesting is their report that AGB did not point out GMA as "the Network" which clearly contradicts the report of ABS-CBN TV Patrol.

New TV Ad of ABS-CBN on the GMA suit

In the continuing war over ratings and side-by-side case filing, ABS-CBN released yet a new Information Ad against rival network GMA's TV Ad (the GMA TV ad here, courtesy of Starmometer).

ABS-CBN showed proof in writing and in video on the issue that an AGB-Nielsen representative (specifically Maya Reforma, General Manager of AGB-Nielsen) directly pointing "the Network" as GMA. ABS-CBN said in the Ad that they never changed what Maya Reforma has said in their interview, and that the truth will finally come out.
